Description of book from Amazon.com:
This is an exceptional
book. In
the most compelling and comprehensive account of this trial, the authors go
below the surface to explore what really happened to Caylee. Wendy Murphy
JD gives us a gripping analysis of the trial that captured a nation. Filled
with facts that were never discussed at trial, this new book raises important
questions about evidence the jurors never heard, and which has been
hidden from the public.
With
a century of combined experience in child advocacy law, psychiatry, psychology,
and grief counseling, the authors analyze the story clearly and in striking
depth. Charles Whitfield MD shows us how to recognize and prevent this kind of
child abuse and neglect and details core issues between Casey and her family.
Barbara Whitfield shows us how to grieve such a loss and what we can do right
now to find meaning in Caylee’s death.
From the Foreword … Our single purpose is to help
ensure that no child ever again suffers the horrific fate that took the life of
one little girl in Florida.
From the Afterword … This tragic story is
an opportunity for each of us to take what we have learned from the cruel death
of one little girl, and use it to help prevent child abuse and neglect in all
its forms.

Justice for Children just sent me an email that quotes you as believing that Casey Anthony suffered childhood trauma, and that this created who she is.
Allow me to preface by saying that my father was a police-officer, and he sexually abused me, including oral and vaginal rape, for many years as a child. I also suffered other traumas at the hands of both parents. As a result, I experienced Dissociative Amnesia for over 3 decades for both the trauma and incest.
I do not believe for one second that Casey Anthony went into some kind of dissociative trauma-induced state after Caylee died. I certainly hope you are not saying that she did, because that would be a slap in the face to all of those, including me, who have truly suffered trauma-induced dissociation. It is also an injustice to common sense and to the real victim, Caylee Marie.
There is zero evidence that Casey Anthony suffered trauma as a child. Yes, her mother and father are seriously dysfunctional and no doubt she experienced some kind of mental and emotional abuse. But there is zero evidence that her father sexually abused and raped her, and to imply such, is a violation to those who have truly been sexually abused and raped by their fathers.
While it is possible that Casey was sexually abused as a child by someone..we just don't know that, and don't know who might have done it. But I will tell you, that to say that sexual abuse leads to a total disregard for one's child, and to a total lack of morals and lack of concern for others, is outrageous.
Casey Anthony is no doubt a narcissistic sociopath and there is no known link to how exactly she got that way. Her soul might just be a dark one, plain and simple. Or maybe she is just a part of the "me, myself and I" generation that has been taught to 'kill or remove whatever is in your way.'
Casey Anthony is a selfish, self-gratifying, self-centered, cold-hearted woman who murdered her child and threw her in a swamp like a piece of garbage and partied and had sex while her child rotted.
Do NOT include Casey Anthony as a survivor of child sexual abuse and trauma. She and her attorney made a mockery out of dissociation and child sexual abuse.
